Publication ethics and malpractice statementsfor the journal Revista română de istorie a secolului XX • The Romanian Review of 20th Century History are based on Publishing ethics resource kit of Elsevier and follows the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics and are based on the guidelines of Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors (COPE). http://publicationethics.org/files/u2/Best_Practice.pdf.
Conflict of interest
The journal uses disclosure statements to identify potential conflicts of interest in the review process, which may arise, for example, from friendships or situations of rivalry or conflict between the author(s) and reviewers.
All funding sources supporting the work and all institutional or corporate affiliations are acknowledged. Except as disclosed on a separate attachment, authors certify that they have no commercial association (e.g., consultancies, stock ownership, equity interest, patent-licensing arrangements) that might pose a conflict of interest in connection with the submitted article, and that they accept full responsibility for the conduct of the trial, had full access to all the data, and controlled the decision to publish.
Publication ethics for the authors:
- All submitted work must be original and authored by the individual who holds the copyright. Any material drawn from other sources must be clearly cited with full references.
- The work must not include defamatory content or violate the copyright or intellectual property rights of others. It should accurately represent who conducted the research and prepared the manuscript.
- Authors are responsible for obtaining written permission to reproduce any third-party material and must provide appropriate acknowledgment within the work.
- Any financial support for the work should be clearly disclosed, either in the acknowledgements section or, if that is not feasible, near the beginning of the text.
- Manuscripts that have already been accepted for publication by another publisher must not be submitted. If any part of the work overlaps with previously published or submitted material, this must be clearly acknowledged in the manuscript and brought to the attention of the commissioning editor at the earliest opportunity.
Publication ethics for peer-review reviewers:
- Review the submitted work confidentially, applying careful, thoughtful, and impartial judgment.
- Disclose any potential conflicts of interest to the commissioning editor before accepting the review.
- Complete the review within an appropriate and agreed timeframe.
- For additional guidance, consult the COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers. (https://publicationethics.org/files/Ethical_Guidelines_For_Peer_Reviewers_2.pdf)
